A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Dr. Componovo received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his five-year residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Componovo achieved his fellowship in adult joint reconstruction at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Componovo specializes in total joint replacement surgery, including minimally invasive, complex, and revision hip and knee replacements. He serves as Chief of the Hip and Knee Replacement Program at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. He is a member of several professional organizations, such as the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and is a faculty research reviewer of the journal BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders.
In addition to offering traditional hip and knee replacements, Dr. Componovo is certified to perform anterior hip replacement surgery as well as outpatient robotic knee replacement for patients that meet specific criteria. Dr. Componovo has completed extensive training in the use of a specialized anterior hip surgical table and anterior surgical technique as well as use of the advanced system technology used robotic knee replacement. These are innovative, less invasive, more precise procedures designed to minimize both pain and recovery time for patients.
