Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Frederick Barnes offers specialized care for bone, joint, and muscle needs, from sports injuries to carpal tunnel syndrome. With extensive experience and focus in hand and upper extremity care, Dr. Barnes serves as a general orthopedic surgeon in East Stroudsburg, Tobyhanna, Brodheadsville, and Milford, Pennsylvania.

Caring for area patients for over three decades, Dr. Barnes provides expert nonsurgical and surgical treatments and specializes in wrist, elbow, and hand conditions and treatments. He treats carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist fractures, hand fractures, ganglion cysts, giant cell tumors, trigger finger, thumb arthritis, and wrist, elbow, and hand arthritis. His expertise includes carpal tunnel release, shoulder and elbow surgery, trigger digit release, cubital tunnel surgery, and knee and hand surgery.

Dr. Barnes is the Former Chief of the Department of Orthopedics at Pocono Health Systems, he is the vice president of the Monroe County Medical Society, a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and also served as assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at The Commonwealth Medical College. A graduate of Cornell University Medical College, Dr. Barnes completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers) Medical School, a Level I Trauma Center. He served as the Administrative Chief Resident in orthopedic surgery at the university.

Dr. Barnes is board-certified and is on active staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
