  • “Dr. Componovo and his staff including Anthony and Kathy have been my providers for both of my total knee replacements. I could not be more pleased with the care I received. From the first time I saw Dr. Componovo I knew he wanted to give me the treatment I needed and to make sure I had the best possible recovery and results. He and his staff explained the process thoroughly and answered all my questions so that I had complete confidence in their abilities. Of course there is pain and work in physical therapy but that was explained to me up front and they provided the pain management to help me through it. I have also received excellent nursing care and physical therapy at home after surgery. I am still in recovery for my left knee but am doing well and making progress. I am so very grateful for my new knees. I am so much stronger and free of 15 years of pain and regaining my mobility. Dr. Componovo has changed my life and I would highly recommend him to others who are struggling with osteoarthritis like me. ”

  • “I would like to take this time to let you know how happy I am with Dr. Componovo and the other professionals at The Lehigh Valley Health Network - Pocono. Due to arthritis for quite a few years, I had a right hip replacement. Dr. Componovo was the orthopedic surgeon who performed the surgery. I am a person who strives for perfection. I thoroughly investigated all of the surgeons in the area, including all of Northeast PA and Lehigh and Northampton counties. Based on a lot of criteria and doing my own homework, I selected Dr. Componovo and I am very delighted I did. From the initial visits, pre-op testing, class, surgery, to the physical therapy and post-op appointments, everything ran exceptionally well. I would say it was a perfect 100%. As one would know, it takes a lot of GREAT PROFESSIONALS WORKING TOGETHER to make this successful and the team at Lehigh Valley Network-Pocono was tremendous. The assistants, nurses, medical assistants, therapists all played an integral part in my experience and recovery. Kathy, Nicole, Rebecca, Michele, Chris, Lee, Frank, Alexa, Beth, Larry (I think I got most of them and sorry if I missed anyone), were all part of this process. Their ability to make me comfortable and their knowledge in their specialized field assured me I made the right decision. Each one of them deserves a big thank you! Also and even though it is usually something a person would not comment on, I would like to mention the food I had at the hospital. Each meal was prepared correctly and it did not taste like "hospital food." I thought it was wonderful and if it was on Yelp, I would rate it 4 stars. My wife even complimented the food was exceptional and she's a finicky eater. She actually ordered off the menu the 2nd day I was there so I know she enjoyed it very much. It's difficult in this busy, hectic world today to accomplish what they all accomplished; to make a patient feel better and be the best they can be. You can tell they all cared about me and that's an awesome feeling when you're the patient. Hats off to all of you who had a part! Today, I do have a different appreciation for hip replacement surgery. It is a difficult surgery and I was humbled by the way Dr. Componovo performed. I have very little swelling, the pain is manageable, and through steady Physical Therapy and excercise, I am using a cane already and off my walker and it has only been 2 weeks and a day from the day of surgery. I would not have believed I would be in this position already. Dr. Componovo knows exactly what he is doing and has the experience to get remarkable results for me, the patient. The day of surgery I asked him to "Bring His A Game" and he did exactly that. I will be selecting Dr. Componovo again as my surgeon for surgery on my other hip. I am very hopeful of the progress I am making and will make in the future. To end, I would give Dr. Componovo and The Lehigh Valley Health Network-Pocono 5 stars and would recommend both of them highly to anyone I know who would need services like mine.”

  • “I am making very good progress with my total knee replacement thanks to your expertise as a fine surgeon, Dr. Componovo. I delayed having it done but I am glad I finally agreed. I can now look forward to spending a great deal of time outdoors and volunteering. Thank you for giving me back the mobility to return to an active lifestyle. You're the best!”

  • “Dr. Componovo was recommended by one of his patients who had his knees replaced. I had a partially torn meniscus and had no idea what to expect. The entire staff was professional and engaging. The doctor was conservative in my treatment and explained everything including any options I would have. Eventually I was in physical therapy and to this day I have and practice my exercises and am fine (I could return to bowling in a short time). One additional note is that when I was going to see if a cortisone shot would help, I said I was extremely nervous about shots, and the doctor called in one of his nurses to help me through the tough part.  Further, the PT who brought me a knee brace explained everything about it for me.”

  • “I first met Dr. Componovo as a referral from Dr. Menio who performed two previous knee surgeries for me. But this time we both knew it was time for the replacement. I was in quite a bit of pain, my knee was unstable and was bowing outward with every step. Dr. Componovo and his staff met with me, confirmed the diagnosis and we made plans to have the replacement surgery performed. I was concerned that there was going to be a lot of pain and difficulty, this was after all major surgery and there is a lot of ... let’s call it carpentry, going on to prepare the bones to take the new joint prosthesis. The surgery by comparison to others I have had was a walk in the park. I had my surgery in the late morning and I was walking on it with a walker at about 4:30 that afternoon. I was surprised by how little pain there was and even the swelling was minimal. The next morning when the physical therapist showed up I did a couple of laps around the floor. The crutches were better for me, and I was very mobile. The nurses were not too happy with me because I was walking around my room without calling them. I felt GREAT. I had 6 or 7 prior surgeries in that knee prior including a patellectomy and I have to say this surgery was easier and less painful than all except the cartilage surgeries I had. Had I known I would have had it done sooner. I did run into some difficulty in that I came into the hospital with a blood clot in my lung that I didn't know I had. So the blood thinners made my stay and recovery a bit longer and more involved but all in all a great result. I am one-year post op, and I feel great! I have played rounds of golf and I am without pain in that knee for the first time in years. I also used the physical therapy team at Mountain Valley and the close working relationship that they maintain between patient, doctor and therapist I believe is key to providing the best possible recovery result.  ”
