  • “I was a bit embarrassed to come in for an ingrown toenail, which was the result of a bad pedicure a few months before. However, I found the front desk staff to be very welcoming and friendly! I especially appreciated the manner in which Dr. McDonald explained the treatment step-by-step. He also took the time to explain preventative measures to reduce the chance of this happening again. In addition, the MA's cheerful and caring attitude was so calming. I wish I had come in sooner and hadn't waited so long to have it fixed. I ran (well, jogged) a 5k two weeks later, and am happily back in my high (but not too high Dr. McDonald!) heels! Thank you for the great experience!”

  • “My experience with Dr. McDonald is always great. He is a very kind and caring doctor who is a joy to come to visit. His staff is just as kind and caring too on every visit to the office. Dr. McDonald never rushes you and always listens carefully to your concerns. He also takes care of my husband, Fred, who is a diabetic, and thanks to Dr. McDonald, he saved Fred's toe from being amputated this past year. I would highly recommend Dr. McDonald to anyone who wants a caring, kind, and very skilled foot doctor to take care of their concerns.”

  • “I came into the facility with an emergency. Dr. McDonald's office staff was so sympathetic and compassionate to my condition. He stayed after office hours to see me. He took very good care of me and answered all of my concerns and put me at ease. I could not have asked for better care. He was an excellant surgeon. All of the office staff made me feel important and addressed all of my needs. My considered opinion is that they are the very best of the very best.”

  • “I broke my fibula skiing at Shawnee on January 18th, 2014. Dr. McDonald did x-rays and an MRI. He discussed options with settling and letting it heal, or operate and install a plate, which is the option I chose. He explained that I was better off with the plate, and if I do the rehabilitation, I would ski like before. I have purchased my season pass at Shawnee the last two years. I also went to Tahoe last year and just returned from Breckenridge last week. I am also a kayaker, hiker, biker, and a volunteer at Assateague State Park during the summer months. This was the third time I was treated by Mountain Valley Orthopedics; right shoulder, bicep, left knee, then the fibula.”

  • “In June of 2013 I ruptured my Achilles tendon in my right leg. I walked around for over a month on what I thought was a severe sprain I went to the emergency room. I was then diagnosed with the rupture. I was referred to Mountain Valley Orthopedics, specifically Dr. Patrick McDonald. It was at this time he sent me for an MRI which confirmed that surgery was needed. As a diabetic there were certain conditions that needed to be addressed and working with Dr. McDonald we were on the same page from day one. I had the surgery in August of that year and then developed diabetic pressure wounds on the right leg which then took months to heal. In February I developed an infection on the left foot that due to neuropathy I lost the big toe and the little toe, which has taken until now to finally heal. Dr. McDonald set me on a path that I really needed to follow right from day one and my trust in his treatment has brought me to where I am soon able to wear shoes again. As they say, I am seeing the light at the end of a very long tunnel I could not have gotten there without Dr. McDonald's dedication to treat my condition.”
