Mountain Valley Orthopedics Offering Safe Care On-Site and Online During COVID-19

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as to continue to provide essential orthopedic care, Mountain Valley Orthopedics is offering telemedicine for patients with orthopedic concerns, with no copay, deductible or coinsurance due. This approach enables new and existing patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained providers from the comfort of their own home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology, such as a smartphone or tablet with a video camera and microphone.

In addition to offering telemedicine appointments, the practice is continuing to provide bone, joint and muscle care at their Injury Care Clinic at their East Stroudsburg office, located at 600 Plaza Court C. This combined approach of online and on-site care will allow for reduced patient traffic in hospitals, emergency rooms and traditional urgent care facilities while those entities focus on fighting COVID-19 cases.

“As we continue to react to the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain devoted to providing orthopedic care to the community while also keeping our patients and staff safe,” says Dr. Frederick Barnes, orthopedic surgeon at Mountain Valley Orthopedics. “We remain open, but we are now offering telemedicine appointments for patients who would rather do a video visit instead of an office visit.”

Through telemedicine, the practice’s specialty-trained experts will be able to provide follow-up care as well as initial diagnoses for bone, joint and muscle conditions. This new, secure technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, high-quality orthopedic care without risk to themselves and others as well as the practice’s providers and staff. For telemedicine appointments, the patient’s insurance will be billed, but there will be no copay, deductible or coinsurance.

“The health and safety of our patients and staff are our top priorities,” says Dr. Barnes. “By continuing to offer safe care in office and online, we can minimize everyone’s risk of contracting COVID-19 as well as do our part to reduce the stress on our health system.”
